Since the 1980s capoeira has undergone an impressive process
of globalisation. Exported to Western Europe and the United
States from the 1970s onwards, the art is now quickly expanding
into Eastern Europe,Latin America, Africa and Asia. It is
estimated that the art is practised today by several million
people around the world.
